Effects Processors

Effects Processors are often used in Live Sound systems to add room reverberation. In a room with a lot of echo, you wouldn't want this. But in an "acoustically dead" room with little echo, it is nice to add reverberation, particularly to vocal microphones.

Some Powered Mixers such as the Allen & Heath PA20CP have built in digital effects processors. The Allen & Heath W3-1602 16 channel mixer also has built in processors.

Most of the larger mixers don't have processors built in. Instead we add an external processor.
